Sir Patrick Stewart
Patrick Stewart is a distinguished stage and screen actor whose illustrious career spans six decades.
A classically trained theatre artist, he grew up in Jarrow, County Durham and studied at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre before joining the Royal Shakespeare Company.
His legendary performances have garnered him three Olivier Awards, Emmy and Tony Award nominations, and a Grammy Award, among countless honours. His beloved screen work, known to audiences worldwide, includes his iconic portrayals of Star Trek’s Jean-Luc Picard and X-Men’s Professor Charles Xavier.
He has and continues to be a strong advocate for many charities, acting in both Patron and Ambassadorial roles, supporting and advocating for a variety of issues.
Patrick was awarded an OBE for services to acting and the cinema in 2001 and received a Knighthood in 2009.
