4. SECURITY MEASURES - and Possibility of International Transfer

The Foundation follows appropriate security procedures in the storage and disclosure of personal data so as to prevent unauthorised access by third parties. We also require those parties to whom we transfer personal data to comply with the same. However, the Internet is not a totally secure medium and you acknowledge and agree that the Foundation shall not be responsible for any unauthorised use, distribution, damage or destruction of personal data.

The Foundation may use anonymised personal information for promotion or research purposes.

In certain circumstances the Data Protection Act allows data to be disclosed to law enforcement agencies without the consent of the data subject. Under these circumstances the Foundation will disclose requested data. However, the data controller will ensure the request is legitimate, seeking assistance from the board and Foundation’s legal advisers where necessary.

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

You have a right to request access to your personal data (commonly known as a “ subject access request”). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it..
