November 2024

Continuing the Foundation and Gillian Lynne’s long-standing association with ArtsEd, the Foundation’s ArtsEd awards for 2024-25 have been renamed the Dame Gillian Lynne Scholarships and are awarded to students undertaking BA (Hons) Musical Theatre Course.

Gillian Lynne maintained a strong connection with ArtsEd from being a pupil of the school as a young teenager when it was known as the Cone Ripman School to supporting the school as a patron in later life.

Following the audition process, the panel were delighted to award the Dame Gillian Lynne Scholarships to Halle Kaiser and Charlotte Harwood, who have since begun the first year of their degree course.

ArtsEd said, "We are truly delighted to offer this scholarship and be a part of honouring the remarkable legacy of Dame Gillian Lynne".

BA (Hons) Musical Theatre is a comprehensive 3 year course covering all aspects of Dance, Singing and Acting as well as learning the history of musical theatre and discovering the works of major contributors working within the field. In the final year, students will perform two professional level shows, as well as a showcase. In preparation for this, first and second years will perform a series of projects for an audience of course leaders and students. Additionally, Career workshops with industry professionals and Audition classes with guest directors and choreographers will help to fully prepare students.
